Designed for smoothing varying-grain woods, this fixed-mouth Hong Kong style smoother hand plane has its blade bedded at approximately 60° to minimize tear-out.
The wedged HSS blade is 44mm wide and 3 mm thick and hardened to RC62-64.
Blade adjustment is done using light mallet taps to set angle and projection.
The Laos Ebony body is 230mm long and is a good size for comfort and control on either a push or pull stroke.
An excellent choice for finishing cuts on hardwood where a smooth, glass-like surface is desired.
